Cabinet Sanding and Staining
Our cabinet sanding process begins after we have completely taken apart your cabinets and installed door handles.
First, we fill the cabinet with dust from the cabinet staining process. We use a specially designed cabinet sander that lifts up and down on each cabinet (this is to prevent damage to any cabinet that may be underneath it).
We start on one cabinet after which we repeat this cabinet sanding process for all cabinets.
We then use a cabinet sander to level out the cabinet and remove any cabinet joints that may have been broken when removing cabinet doors or cabinet hardware. The cabinet sander allows us to fill in holes and joints with ease.
When finished, we go over the entire cabinet again with our wide belt sander and 220 grit paper in order to produce a smooth cabinet surface.
We will switch up to 400 grit paper after this step is complete in order to provide a finer finish. Finally, we apply wax or varnish (for unfinished cabinets) along the edges of each cabinet door and drawer in order to give them a clean finish before installing hinges and re-installing your cabinet doors.
After cabinet sanding is complete, it's on to cabinet staining!
